If you have been a client at The Blooming Rose for a while, you know what’s coming. The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp, and... your lashes might be shedding a little faster.
Just like in the spring, the Autumn Shed is a real biological process.
Why Does It Happen in September?
As the temperature drops, your body prepares for winter. This often triggers a hair growth cycle where your body sheds old hair to make room for new growth. Since your lash extensions are attached to your natural lashes, when the natural hair falls out, the extension goes with it.
You might notice:
More lashes on your pillow in the morning.
Your set looking "gappy" at 2.5 weeks instead of the usual 3 weeks.
Adjust Your Schedule for Fall
We highly recommend booking your fills a few days earlier than usual during September and October.
If you usually go 3 weeks, try booking at 2 weeks.
If you usually go 2 weeks, just be prepared that you might need a little more work than usual at your appointment.
Don't Forget Moisture!
September air in Utah gets dry very quickly. Brittle lashes break easier. Make sure you are using a lash-safe serum to keep the natural hair flexible and strong during the temperature change. Ask us for a recommendation at your next visit!
