What areas of the face can be waxed? Facial waxing services are fully customizable and include:

  • Brows: Precision mapping, trimming, waxing, and detail tweezing.

  • Lip: Upper and lower lip zones.

  • Chin & Jawline: Smooth removal of coarse or fine hairs along the jaw and lower chin.

  • Sideburns & Cheeks: Clean removal of dense vellus fuzz for seamless makeup application.

  • Full Face: Comprehensive hair removal covering brows, upper lip, chin, cheeks, and sideburns (forehead optional upon request).

What type of wax do you use, and is it suitable for sensitive skin? We use an ultra-gentle, premium hard wax formulated specifically for delicate facial skin. Hard wax adheres strictly to the hair shaft rather than gripping the skin, significantly reducing redness, pulling, and irritation compared to traditional soft strip waxes.

How long does hair need to be before facial waxing? For optimal removal without breakage, hair should be roughly the length of a grain of rice (approximately 1/4 inch, or about 2 to 3 weeks of natural growth from your last shave or wax). If hair is too short, the wax cannot grip the follicle cleanly.

Can I get waxed if I use Retin-A, Retinol, or exfoliating acids? No. Active skincare ingredients such as prescription tretinoin, Retin-A, OTC retinols, adapalene, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid significantly thin the surface epidermis. Waxing while using these actives can lead to skin lifting, tearing, or scabbing.

  • Retinols/AHAs/BHAs: Discontinue use on the area to be waxed at least 5 to 7 days prior.

  • Prescription Tretinoin/Differin: Discontinue use for at least 7 to 10 days prior (with approval from your dermatologist).

  • Accutane (Isotretinoin): You must be completely off Accutane for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year before receiving any facial waxing services. Tweezing is available as a safe alternative.

How often should I book facial waxing? Every 3 to 4 weeks. Regular waxing weakens hair follicles over time, leading to slower, finer, and sparser regrowth with less discomfort during subsequent visits.

How should I care for my skin after a facial wax?

  • First 24 hours: Avoid touching the area with unwashed hands. Avoid heavy makeup, liquid foundations, direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths.

  • Pause actives: Wait 48 hours before reintroducing retinols, chemical exfoliants, or harsh physical scrubs.

  • Soothe & protect: Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and apply daily broad-spectrum SPF to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Will facial waxing make my hair grow back thicker or darker? No. That is a common myth. Waxing removes hair completely from the root follicle. When the hair regenerates, it grows back with a fine, tapered tip rather than the blunt, coarse edge left behind by razors. Over time, regular waxing naturally softens hair texture and reduces density.
