New Year, New Routine: Is It Time for a Lash Rehab?

Can we be honest? December is hard on our eyes. Between the holiday parties, the heavy strip lashes we glue on for New Year’s Eve, and the nights we maybe forgot to wash our makeup off (we won’t tell anyone), your natural lashes might be feeling a little fragile right now.

At The Blooming Rose, one of the most common things we see in January is clients coming in with "holiday hangover" lashes—gaps, breakage, or just dryness from heavy makeup use.

If your goal for 2026 is the "clean girl aesthetic" or just generally looking more awake without piling on mascara, you need a solid foundation. You need a Lash Rehab.

Sign #1: You’re Seeing "Stumps" or Gaps

If you wore heavy strip lashes during the holidays, the glue can often pull out natural lashes prematurely when removed. If you look closely in the mirror and see short, stubby lashes mixed in with long ones, or noticeable gaps, your lash line is dealing with trauma.

The Fix: Don’t cover it up with more heavy strips! This is the time to switch to a Lash Serum (we retail our favorites in the studio) and consider a break from heavy mechanical curling.

Option A: The "Cold Turkey" Rehab (Lash Lift)

If your lashes are damaged, you might think you need to go bare. Not necessarily. A Keratin Lash Lift is actually a fantastic bridge for clients recovering from damage.

  • It doesn’t add weight to the natural lash.

  • We infuse keratin and hydration into the hair during the process.

  • It stops you from using a mechanical curler (which is the #1 cause of breakage we see).

Option B: The "Lightweight" Rehab (Wet Lashes)

If you can’t live without extensions, we can modify your set. Instead of heavy volume fans with extreme adhesive, we switch you to what we call "Wet Lashes" or a light hybrid set. We use lighter-weight fibers that give you that wispy, wet look without putting stress on your natural lash follicle while it heals.

Why "Lash Health First" is Our Motto for 2026

As Master Lash Artists, our priority is always the integrity of your natural lash. We will never apply a set of extensions that your natural lashes can't support whether you choose to get classic, hybrid, volume, or mega volume lash extensions!

This year, let’s ditch the heavy, uncomfortable strips and focus on sustainable beauty. Whether that’s starting a serum routine, switching to a Lash Lift, or trusting The Blooming Rose to bring your lashes back to their healthiest state.
